The concentration of cytokines in the small intestine of mice treated for colitis with dextran sulphate sodium (COL); infected with H. polygyrus (HP) or treated for colitis and infected with H. polygyrus (HP/COL) and the specific antibodies levels were measured by ELISA. The results are expressed as the means ± SE of five mice. Statistical significance between groups was assessed by ANOVA; *P < 0.05 compared to values obtained in the small intestine of control untreated mice infected with H. polygyrus (HP).
