Cells of S. cerevisiae strain BY4742 (Δycf1) carrying pGK1 (EV) or pOsDEP1, and its parental strain (WT, BY4742) carrying EV were grown in SD-Ura liquid medium for 16h. The OD₆₀₀ of the cultures was adjusted to 1.0 from which tenfold dilution series (10^–1, 10^–2, 10^–3, and 10^–4) were prepared. Subsequently, 5 μl aliquots of each dilution were spotted onto SD-Ura control medium (left panel) or medium containing 50 μM CdCl₂ (right panel), and the cells were allowed to grow for 3 d.
