Anterior, posterior, lateral, and superior views of T-maps showing regions of the proximal femoral surface where local shape was significantly associated with age (A and B; Aging Study) or with incident hip fracture (C and D; Fracture Study). Consistency was found between the T-maps in A and B, which were computed based on the comparisons of the middleage and older subgroups, respectively, with the young subgroup. The views of the T-map shown in C and D, which was computed based on the comparison between fracture and control women, show focal regions significantly associated with incident hip fracture. The color scale in A, B and C was based on the dynamic range of the comparison in B. The color scale in D was based on the dynamic range of the comparison in C-D. Non-significant vertices were displayed in grey.
