Mutations resulting in mVenus and mTurquoise2. mVenus bears mainly folding mutations (F64L, M153T, V163A, S175G) and F46L for optimized oxidation of the fluorophore. A206K turned Venus monomeric. Cyan emission of the mVenus derivative mTurquoise was achieved by the mutations L46F, Y203T, T65S, Y66W, and N146I. The mutations are highlighted in red.
