BrdU was continuously provided in drinking water from the first day of TX injections until sacrifice 28 days later. Hu+/Tom+/BrdU+ triple positive cells were identified in the hypothalamus (arrows/arrowheads in A), and confirmed by 3D reconstruction from confocal Z-stacks (B,C; marked by arrows in A). There was no significant difference (p>0.05) between the proportion of Tom+ cells that also contained BrdU, and the proportion of Tom+/Hu+ cells that also contained BrdU (D). Scale bar = 200 µm.
