A) Residue G59 whose mutation to serine is associated with dSBMA, makes a bifurcated hydrogen bond to the backbone of A45 and Y46. We observe that A45 possesses two distinct conformations in the unlighted form, which collapse to a single conformation upon binding to EB1. B) The dynamic region is comprised by residues T43-V44-A45, which do not directly interact with EB1, the EEY ligand, and are distant from the point mutations associated with Perry's Syndrome.
