Acyl chains were released by acid-catalyzed transmethylation, and hydroxyl groups were silylated before separation by gas chromatography and detection by flame ionization detector. Pentadecanol (C15:0-OH), ω-hydroxy-pentadecanoic acid (ωOH-C15:0), and heptadecanoic acid (C17:0) were used as internal standards for suberin monomer quantification.
