D. sechellia recessive alleles have no effect on behavior, as shown by the plot of the response index (RI). To test the effect of recessive alleles from D. sechellia on preference behavior, we selfed F₁ low (low 10 and 335-6) and high (high 10 and 197-6) tolerant introgression lines to make F₂ progeny. Flies possessing both homozygous and heterozygous D. sechellia introgressions were pooled. Their behavior was not different from purely heterozygous F₁. Females (“F”) and males (“M”) were assayed for all four lines.
