Neutralization of IL-17A decreased the expression of pro-inflammatory mediators after BDL. Mice were treated with anti–IL-17A antibody (gray bars) or control IgG (black bars) and were subjected to BDL or sham surgery as detailed in Materials and Methods. Nine days after surgery, mRNA levels of the proinflammatory mediators MIP-2 (A), Cxcl5 (B), Ccl7 (C), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) (D), and ICAM-1 (E) were measured by real-time PCR. ∗P < 0.05 versus sham-operated mice; †P < 0.05 versus BDL mice treated with control IgG.
