Metformin reduces cell viability in the ovarian cancer cell lines A2780 and SKOV3 in a time- and concentration-dependent manner. Cell viability as determined by the MTS assay in A2780 cells (A) and SKOV3 cells (B) incubated for either 24 or 48 hours with micromolar (0-20 µmol/L) to millimolar (5-50 mmol/L) concentrations of metformin. All data points represent the mean of 3 independent experiments, each consisting of 5 replicates. P < .05 was considered as significant.
