Quetiapine (A) 5 mg/kg, (B) 7 mg/kg or (C) 10 mg/kg, i.p., negative control ((-), saline 1 ml, i.p.) and positive control ((+), methamphetamine 1 mg/kg, i.p.) were treated to rats for 8 days, and the striatum part of the brain was collected. Two genes and proteins (Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), serotonin transporter (Slc6a4)) were detected using PCR and western blotting techniques. GAPDH was used as control. Quantitative measures were calculated from the density of each area using Image J program (NIH, USA).
