Airway (A) inspiratory and (B) expiratory resistance in response to varied doses of MCH in the four groups were analyzed using an animal lung function apparatus. Dose-response curves showed that the airway response to MCH was significantly increased in the OVA and NGF groups compared with that of the control group (P<0.01). Treatment of OVA-sensitized rats with anti-NGF prevented this increase in airway reactivity (P<0.01). ▪P<0.01 compared with the control group, P<0.01 and ▴▴P<0.05 compared with the OVA group.
