Transcriptional activity of the 269 bp survivin promoter. The relative activities of the survivin promoter in tumour cells SW620 and HeLa (A) or in normal cells MRC-5 and HLF-1 (B) were measured by the luciferase assay system. Data are presented as mean ± S.D. (bars) (n ∇ 4, ***P < 0.001). A total of 0.7 μg of reporter plasmid together with 0.07 μg of pCMV-β-gal were co-transfected. Forty-eight hours later, the cells were harvested, and the luciferase activity was assayed by the dual-luciferase reporter assay system.
