Representative scout radiographs for the wrist (A) and MCPs (B) illustrating the localization for the tomographic acquisition (filled green). For the wrist (A), the operator places the reference line (red) at the inflection in the curvature of the radial endplate with the scanned region (green) extending 8.54 mm distally and 18.52 mm proximally. The final 9.02 mm corresponds to the standard region for scanning the radius in adults for the assessment of bone quality. For the MCPs (B), the reference line (red) is positioned at the distal apex of the 3rd metacarpal, extending 13.53 mm in the proximal and distal directions (B).
