Red flags in headache.

• Abnormal neurological examination (others than typical aura)
• New headache in older patients
• Headache increasing in frequency and severity
• Worst headache ever
• Sudden onset of headache
• New-onset headache in a patient with risk factors for HIV infection or cancer
• Headache with signs of systemic illness (e.g. fever, stiff neck, rash)
• Papilloedema
• Headache subsequent to head trauma
• History of dizziness or lack of coordination
• Progressively worsening headache
• Headache worsening with Valsalva manoeuvre
