Am80 treatment of T. muris-infected mice increases the production of IL-6. In the absence of IL-6, Am80 can still imprint gut homing on MLN T cells. Wild-type or IL-6 KO mice were infected with a low-dose of T. muris eggs to induce a chronic infection and treated with either vehicle or Am80 between days 21 and 35p.i.. At day 35p.i. MLN cells were isolated. a 5 × 106 MLN cells were cultured with T. muris Excretory/Secretory (E/S) antigen at 50μg/ml for 48 h. Levels of IL-9, IL-13, IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-10 and IL-17A were measured by CBA. Data are representative of two independent experiments. b Flow cytometric analysis of MLN cells.
