Changes in the urinary log₁₀ S-(-)equol:daidzein ratio in 5 healthy adults that were equol producers measured at baseline and daily for 7 consecutive days, during which the antibiotic metronidazole (7.5 mg/kg body weight; three times a day) was administered and then again 12, 14, 30, 60, and 90 d after completion of the course of antibiotics.
