PAL-induced S1P production is SphK1 dependent. Myoblasts were isolated from C57Bl/6J and Sphk1^−/− mice and differentiated to myotubes. Following a 16-h treatment with BSA or 0.75 mm PAL, cells were harvested and analyzed. A, three sets of isolated myotubes were pooled for the measurement of total S1P.
