PeFLH stimulation inhibited PnO neuronal activity. A train of electrical stimuli (50 Hz; 50 μA; 500 ms of duration) in the PeFLH area (vertical arrow) evoked a long-lasting inhibition of PnO neurons (upper trace). The inhibitory effect was blocked by the iontophoretic application of the GABAA receptor antagonist bicuculline (10 mM) into the PnO nucleus (lower trace).
