Pattern of pulsatile LH release and associated flush episodes in four postmenopausal women. The arrows indicate flush onset. Each graph illustrates a separate 8- to 10-h study in which blood samples were obtained at 15-min intervals. The close timing of LH pulses and hot flushes provides evidence that the mechanism of flushes is linked with the hypothalamic control of pulsatile GnRH secretion.
