Three different order polynomials were fit to the deflected photobleached lines. Even though the 5th order polynomial seems to be a good fit to the photobleached deflected line, there are significant differences in shear strain (i.e. first derivative) of 5th and 7th order polynomials. The articular surface is at the right side of the image.
