PI3K phosphorylation/activation is induced by EGF and inhibited by PKG II. The AGS cells were treated as in Fig. 1 and western blotting with an antibody against p-PI3K p85 (Tyr458) was performed to analyze the effect of EGF and PKG II on the phosphorylation/activation of PI3K. The results revealed that in the EGF-treated cells, the phosphorylation level of PI3K p85 (Tyr458) increased. Infection with Ad-PKG II+cGMP efficiently inhibited the EGF-induced phosphorylation of PI3K p85 (Tyr458). PI3K, phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase; EGF, epidermal growth factor; PKG II, cGMP-dependent protein kinase Type II.
