Representative results in the hairless mouse skin (HMS) and human epidermal membrane (HEM) studies. Isoenhancement concentrations (mM) of E = 10 obtained with HMS and HEM for the enhancers in phosphate buffered saline (PBS). Isoenhancement concentrations are defined as the aqueous concentrations for which different enhancers induce the same extent of penetration enhancement, E, for transport across the lipoidal pathway of stratum corneum.
