Induction of cell proliferation of COLO 858, MEL HO and COLO 679 human melanoma cells by SP at several nanomolar concentrations (5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 nM) according to the cell line studied. The NK-1 receptor antagonist L-732,138 was added in the presence (the most mitogenic exogenous SP nM concentration) or absence (none) of SP during the first doubling time. In both cases, L-732,138 inhibited cell proliferation. Using the ANOVA test, a significant difference between each group and the control group (none-none) was found.
