Phosphorylation of AMOT by Lats1/2 inhibits F-actin association and then actin stress fiber and focal adhesion formation. These effects of AMOT on cell structure and cell adhesion may work independently or in cooperation with YAP-dependent gene transcription alteration downstream of Lats1/2 to regulate cell migration.
