CM of untreated cells was incubated with plasmin (5 mU·mL) for 6 h in the presence of either anti-annexin A2 or control IgG (2 μg·mL⁻¹). The medium of naïve cells was then replenished by the plasmin-treated CM and the cells were maintained for a further 48 h before cell enumeration. ^*P < 0.05, ^**P < 0.01 compared to plasmin + control IgG; ^∧∧P < 0.01 compared to basal + control IgG (n = 5).
