Micro-structural architecture of the electrospun scaffold

This figure illustrates the structural resemblance between the architecture of native human hyaline cartilage (A) and the electrospun PLLA scaffold (B). The SEM image of native cartilage (A) was fixed in 2.5% glutaraldehyde, followed by stepwise dehydration with critical point drying and sputtered gold coating as mentioned above (scale bar=2 µm). PLLA, poly(L-lactide); SEM, scanning electron microscopy.
