The squamous epithelial basal cells (A) and reserve cells (B) are positive for occludin (arrows), whereas the columnar epithelial cells are negative (B). Claudin 2 is positive in squamous basal cells (C), in columnar glandular cells (D), and in reserve cells (D) (arrows).
