Quantification of architectural changes induced with TAA. Morphometric changes in tissue architecture were quantified from stained histological sections to measure: A) aortic wall thickness (*, p=0.001), B) collagen/elastin ratio (*, p=0.004), and C) transmural lamellar number (*, p<0.001). Two independent sections from each aorta (n=6 TAA, n=6 control) were imaged and quantitated for each group. Wall thickness, collagen/elastin ratio, and lamellar number, were all significantly decreased in TAA sections as compared to reference controls.
