Gene expression of mNeil1, mOgg1 and mNeil3 during mouse brain development. The Northern blot contains RNA samples from brain tissue of 17.5-day-old mouse embryos to 12-month-old mice. cDNA from the three mouse genes were utilized as probes, and these were the same sequences as for the RNA probes applied in the in situ hybridization experiments. MNeil1 expression increased with age, in contrast to mOgg1 which was more constantly expressed throughout the life span. MNeil3 could only be detected until 2 weeks of age. The blot was repeated twice.
