Effect of different types of postconditioning on infarct volume. Infarct volume was determined by calculating TTC stained brain sections that were obtained 48 hr after MCA (middle cerebral artery) embolization. The data are presented as Mean ± SD. In type 1 postconditioning (PC10), the CCAs occluding and releasing times were 10 and 30 sec, respectively and repeated for 5 cycles.
