P2X7 inhibition induces counteracting growth factors in the SVZ. a A 3-day injection of BBG in naïve C57BL/6 mice did not induce the expression of the general proliferation marker, Ki67, or the C cell marker EGFR. Expression of CNTF mRNA was increased, but not of FGF2, which is known to drive neuroblast formation.
