The number of senescent NSPCs is increased in the DG of APP/PS1 transgenic mice. (a) Brain slices of APP/PS1 transgenic mice and wild-type mice at 9 months were immunofluorescence staining with Aβ antibody (red). Aβ was specific to the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of APP/PS1 transgenic mice. DIC microphotographs were taken at the same location. (b) Brain slices as above were stained with SA-β-gal labeling assay. The senescent cells in the DG were detected by blue cells staining visualized under an inverted microscope. Pictures were acquired and analyzed using stereological methods. (c) Brain slices as above were double immunofluorescence staining with Nestin (green) and p16 (red), and nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue).
