Table 2. Clotting times after exposure to myocardial matrix.

The prothrombin time (PT) and the activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) were obtained for human plasma samples after the addition of saline (control), the myocardial matrix at a standard concentration (1:10,000), and the myocardial matrix at a high concentration (1:2,500). Data are means +/− SEM (n = 2).

ECM:plasma PT (s) APTT (s)
Control (saline) 11.65 ± 0.071 26.3 ± 0.0
1:10,000 11.75 ± 0.071 25.7 ± 0.141
1:2,500 11.75 ± 0.071 27.5 ± 0.566
