Capital costs were calculating assuming $130 000 for the cost of the PVP machine, an annuity factor of 4.3295 (5 years of life expectancy at 5% interest rate), an annual operating costs of $100 (Stafinski et al. 20082) and 165 PVP procedures per year per hospital.
