Authors' calculations pulled data from two sources: (1) the 2008 National Immunization Survey (NIS) (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nis/data_files_09_prior.htm) and NIS-Teen (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nis/data_files_teen.htm) for population counts and overall vaccination rates of privately insured children, and (2) the 2006 MarketScan database to estimate the difference in vaccination rates for those with and without cost sharing.
