The composite end point was defined as the earliest date of either a CD4+ T-cell count <250 cells/mm3, antiretroviral therapy initiation, or death. The genomic regions are labeled (i) gag, (ii) pol, (iii) vpu, (iv) env, and (v) gp. In each genomic region, subtype A was compared to subtype D.
