For all ANS experiments, an ANS solution of the same concentration in 20 mM sodium phosphate buffer at pH 7.4 has been used as a background and subtracted from the experimentally observed data. An excitation wavelength of 360 nm has been used for the ANS experiments. For the steady state tryptophan fluorescence experiments, a 20 mM sodium phosphate buffer at pH 7.4 has been used as the background.
