Pre-training inhibition of USP14 activity in the amygdala does not alter memory acquisition. (A) Animals received infusions of Vehicle (DMSO) or IU1 (100 μM or 200 μM) into the amygdala 5 min prior to auditory and contextual fear conditioning (all n’s = 10). The following day animals were tested to both the auditory CS and the training context in a counterbalanced order, and given a second auditory CS test on day 3. (B) Representative injection sites for amygdala infusions targeting the basolateral nucleus (BLA). (C) Neither concentration of IU1 altered the ability of the animals to acquire the fear conditioning task, which is displayed as 1-min averages for the entire session.
