SV diameter (A) and AZ surface area (B) scale with the relative abundance of synapsin isoforms in the calyx of Held. Decreased absolute number of SV per AZ (C) in case of synapsin overexpression but not in synapsin triple knock-out compared to control/wild-type terminals. Parameters are normalized to control/wild-type values and One-Way ANOVA with Tukey-Kramer post-hoc test was used to determine statistical significance.
