Perturbation of OXPHO complex activities in the myocardium of STZ-DM mice. Diabetes was induced with streptozotocin injection (160 mg/kg of body weight) (STZ). Myocardium was isolated 10 days after the onset of diabetes. Blood glucose levels were significantly higher in the STZ mice (453.8±51.7 mg/dL) than the control group (166± 5.5 mg/dL) (p<0.01). OXPHO complex activities were normalized with the contents of porin in each mitochondria sample. Data represent mean±SEM. (*p<0.05, vs. control; #p<0.005, vs. control; ##p<0.001, vs. control).
