FIGURE 9.

Impact of the Thr-184 site on MYO3A filopodia elongation activity in the presence of ESPN1. Expressing the GFP-tagged versions of the MYO3A mutations in combination with ESPN1 revealed that kinase activity was required for regulation of filopodial length. The reduced kinase activity of T184A failed to regulate filopodial length (similar to K50R), although the enhanced kinase activity of T184E resulted in shorter filopodia than wild-type MYO3A. * indicates significantly different from MYO3A (p < 0.008, Tukey test). † indicates significantly different from GFP-MYO3A-K50R (p < 0.0001, Tukey test).
