Male C57BL6J mice (12–18 weeks old) either had free access to food for 24 h (Free feeding) or were fasted at ZT2 and then had restricted access to food at ZT18 for 3 h (Restricted feeding) as indicated. Mice were sacrificed every 4 h (n = 4/5 at each time point). Lights were on at ZT0 and off at ZT12. Relative mRNA expression was calculated with respect to ZT0.
