Changes in the expression of TLR4, MyD88 and NF-κB signalling factors in developing osteoclasts following ovariectomy and methionine treatment. Methionine at a dose of 250 mg·kg⁻¹ body wt was administered in drinking water for 10 weeks. Alendronate (200 μg·kg⁻¹ body wt) was administered p.o. to OVX rats at an interval of 5 days for 1 month. For combination therapy alendronate was administered at a dose of 100 μg·kg⁻¹ body wt. Both treatments for combination therapy were performed 6 h apart. The expressions of TLR4, MyD88, IκB and NF-κB signalling proteins were analysed by Western blot. One of the four representative Western blots is given. *P < 0.05 compared with basal.
