BRE significantly reduced UVB-induced edema and neutrophil activation. UVB induced edema as measured via single fold skin thickness was significant (**, P = 0.001), compared with UVB-exposed vehicle-treated controls (A). BRE significantly inhibited the UVB-induced increase in dorsal skin myeloperoxidase activity compared with vehicle (*, P = 0.03; B). Columns, mean fold increase of myeloperoxidase activity over matched no UV controls; bars, SD.
