(A) Regulation of DME and transporter gene expression by LTA in TCPOBOP-pretreated primary hepatocytes. Primary hepatocytes from CAR+/+ were isolated and treated with specific CAR activator TCPOBOP (250 nM) for 24 h prior to treatment with (A) saline or LTA (50 ng/ml) for 8 hours, or (B) saline or LPS (1 μg/ml) for 16 hours. RNA was isolated, and real-time PCR was performed, as described earlier. n = 5 per group.
