Table 5.

Correlations between the effective population sizes and the number of detected signatures

  N e50 N e5 N e5 /N e50
Total signatures
-0.57 (0.083)
-0.69 (0.028)
0.10 (0.788)
Final signatures
-0.76 (0.010)
-0.82 (0.004)
0.37 (0.290)
SNPs/Signature -0.69 (0.026) -0.47 (0.173) 0.89 (0.0004)

The correlation values are given along with the corresponding two-sided P-values in brackets. The correlations were estimated between the effective population sizes of 5 (N e5 ) and 50 (N e50 ) generations ago as well as the ratio of them (N e5 /N e50 ) and the number of signatures including singletons (Total signatures), the number of confirmed signatures without singletons (Final signatures) and the average number of SNPs per final signature.
