Cytokine production of spleen cells isolated from mice immunized by oral gavage. BALB/c mice were immunized orally on days 0 and 14 with KLH (5 mg) alone or supplemented with TxAC314 (10 μg), CT (10 μg), or EtxB (10 μg). On day 35 splenocytes were collected, seeded in culture (106/ml), and in vitro restimulated with KLH (50 μg/ml) (black bars) or left unstimulated (open bars). Culture supernatants collected after 72 h were assayed for cytokines IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-4, and IL-10 by ELISA.
