This 5-year-old is choosing “blue” (seven for self and zero for other, or “7,0”) over “green” (eight for self and eight for other, or “8,8”). After each decision, the tokens for the participant are put in the covered box in front of her with her name on it, the tokens for the other girl are put in the unlabeled box, and the tokens from the other half of the board are removed.
