Caspase-3 is essential for TRAIL-induced apoptosis. A: Effect of TRAIL on MCF-7/Cas-3/PKCδ expressing and control cells. Addition of TRAIL enhances PKCδ cleavage (activated), caspase-3 cleavage (activated), and PARP cleavage compared to untreated cells. Inhibition of caspase-3 by Z-DEVD-fmk reverses TRAIL-induced biochemical changes and apoptosis (A,B).
